This is my thrid attempt to find a freelancer. I have now been trying to do this for a year! I have already been ripped off TWICE!
For several months I worked with a freelancer that I found here to build what I think should be a relatively simple wordpress MU site. I am not a difficult person to deal with. I am however very CLEAR on what I want technically.
I also think the person I picked originally to work on the site is skilled. However he just didn't have the time to focus on my project. Things kept getting put off and put off. Maybe I wasn't strict enough and set clear deadlines.
Please read the requirements before you tell me you are interested in doing this. Please include comments that show me you have actually read the requirements!
Currently run a community for expat Swedes living in NYC. Looking for a freelancer to help rebuild the site and add a blog element. Our site is currenty joomla. THere is a forum and all the users have profiles.
I would like users ported from joomla at least user names. I understand passwords are encrypted. I think forcing users to reselect a password is a small price to pay.
We would like a multiuser blog.
I´d want something with a clear line between blog and forum. I am ok with using any forum bolt on to wordpress. I just want to make sure the forum has ability for users to have personal profiles. I have seen disqus for users so they are not so anonymous.
Some light design work. (The site is for Swedes living in NYC, so mostly white for readability with elements of blue and yellow) - I am not a good designer, that's why I'm here.
Gallery (wi loads from flickr)
Ability to comment on profiles would be nice.
Ability to link to flickr in profiles
A front page where I can link to the featured bloggers. (10 to 15 feature blogger
Advertising space on front page.
Ability to restrict blog comments.
Wordpress blog entries to feed single twitter account
Wordpress blog entries to feed to facebook group
Some bloggers agggregate via RSS
Any cool integrations between wordpress - Facebook - Twitter that you can think of.
Here comes the complex parts:
1. Copy users from joomla would like users and as much profile info copied into forum. Ideally passwords too.. but I'm willling to accept reseting everyones passwords in the move. Important... I dont want avg users to be able to blog. They can comment on blog entries.
2. I have 2 domains that I would like to point to 1 site. I could care less what it says in the url.. however I would like the logo to be custom to the originaling domain..
EX www.siteHarry.com opens up vanilla site www.vanillaswede.com with harry logo. www.sitesven.com opens up same vanillaswede.com site with sven logo. (Am I making sense?)
I have a list of sites I like from a technical stand point. IE they have feature bloggers and separate forum area.
DO NOT SEND ME A FORM LETTER! IT MAKES IT SO OBVIOUS THAT YOU CARE NOTHING OF THE REQUIREMENTS! I WILL IGNORE FORM RESPONSES! |
